Twin Zygosity Test

Twin Zygosity DNA testing determines if two siblings are identical or fraternal twins. Genetic profiles (DNA results) for identical twins match exactly; fraternal twins have different DNA profiles.

Identical Twins

The DNA profiles for identical twins will be identical The physical attributes of identical twins appear to be the same for traits such as hair color, hair texture, eye color, height, and weight. They must also be of the same sex.

Fraternal Twins

The DNA profiles for fraternal twins will not be identical; their biological relationship is similar to full-siblings that are born at different times. The physical attributes of fraternal twins can be very different - they may even be different genders. However, some fraternal twins appear to have the same traits such as hair color, hair texture, eye color, height, and weight; however their genetic DNA profiles will be different.
